Content ROI & Attribution
Measure the real business impact of your content by tracking which articles drive conversions, newsletter signups, and revenue, not just pageviews.
Beyond Pageviews
Most content teams measure success by pageviews and sessions. These numbers feel satisfying but they don't answer the question leadership actually cares about: which articles are generating customers?
The Campaign ROI & Attribution suite connects your content publishing activity directly to downstream business outcomes (form submissions, purchases, newsletter signups, demo bookings) so you can build a clear picture of content-driven revenue.
UTM Tracking & Attribution
Every article published through the platform can be automatically tagged with UTM parameters, standardized tracking codes appended to URLs that identify the campaign source, medium, and content piece.
When you share a published article link (on LinkedIn, in a newsletter, in an email campaign), the UTM parameters travel with it. Visitors who click the link and convert are attributed back to that specific article in your analytics.
The platform tracks: - Traffic source: Where the click came from (social, newsletter, organic search, referral). - Campaign name: Which publishing campaign or content series the article belongs to. - Content ID: The specific article, allowing multi-article campaigns to be broken down by individual piece.
All UTM data flows into your connected analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or custom tracking endpoints).
Conversion Goal Setup
Define what "success" means for your content by setting up conversion goals:
- Navigate to Analytics → Conversion Goals.
- Create goals for the actions that matter to your business: page form submissions, button clicks, file downloads, account signups, or custom event triggers.
- Assign a monetary value to each goal (e.g., newsletter signup = $5 estimated LTV, demo booking = $500 pipeline value).
Once goals are configured, every article in the platform gets a Conversions count and an Estimated Revenue attribution number, surfaced directly on the article detail view and on the Publishing Calendar.
ROI Attribution by Article
With conversion goals active, the analytics dashboard shows you:
- Top-performing articles by conversion count: Which specific posts are driving the most form fills, signups, or purchases.
- Revenue per article: The total estimated revenue attributed to each piece of content based on your goal values.
- Conversion rate by content type: Long-form guides vs. product pages vs. opinion pieces. See which format converts best for your audience.
- Content ROI: Total estimated revenue generated by a content series divided by the estimated cost of producing it.
This makes it straightforward to justify content investment to stakeholders and double down on the formats and topics that deliver measurable business value.
